Best places to visit in India during summer

by Guest Blogger

I know what I did last summer!!!!

Summer’s scorching heat not only burns your skin but also activate your adrenocorticotropic hormone making you pettish throughout the weather.

Last summer my friend visited me from the US. After spending two days in Jaipur, she insisted on flying and saving her from the melting skin weather.

I had few suggestions for her as  travel blogger to which she totally felicitated in accepting with whatever destination I choose for us.

I have to know about her preferences to streamline my decision in making this trip a spectacular experience. The chosen best places to visit during the summer according to me are provided below – I would like to add on that summers in India begin with Holi Celebration, so if you are planning to visit India during Summers then you must attend the Holi celebration in India:

Ladakh

I have been to Ladakh earlier and was dazzled away by the serenity and natural beauty of mountain and lakes. The bike trip, trekking, visiting ancient monastery were the memories I still cherish. If my friend has no problem with altitude, Ladakh is the perfect destination to spend summertime with nature and exploring inner and outer beauty in the most serene way.

The availability of comfortable and luxurious rooms ranging from Rs 3500- Rs 8000. The estimated cost for food, and other miscellaneous things like toll, permit fees, entry fees to monasteries etc. come about Rs 2000-4000 for one person per day if planned with more than 2 people.

My previous expedition was a road trip to Ladakh on the bike which took much time and was tiring. This Time I would prefer to fly from Delhi and would love to spend more time with my friend than my adventure on road.

My Pashmina shawl and Apricot jam bought from Ladakh market still mesmerise my trip to “The Broken Moon Land”.

Coorg

My second choice was Coorg, Scotland of India. My love for coffee took me to this destination with the largest coffee plantation on western ghats of Karnataka. The Hill station in the southern part of India is rich in culture and natural vegetation. Coorg is no different from other hill station in South India, except its world-renowned hospitality and vegetation.

I still remember my early morning walks to the spice farms and interacting with friendly local residents.

The availability of comfortable and luxurious rooms ranging from Rs 2500- Rs 6000. The estimated cost for food, and other miscellaneous things like toll, permit fees, entry fees to monasteries, trekking trips etc. come about Rs 2000-3000 for one person per day if planned with more than 2 people.

My previous expedition was a road trip to Coorg using Public transport which took much time and was not convenient. This Time I would prefer to fly from Delhi to Mangalore or would love to spend more time with my friend on the rail journey till Mysore, and then road journey to Coorg.

Coffee, spices and natural wine bought from Coorg market still add flavours to my “Romantic life”.

Sonamarg

Best places to visit in India during summers

Though the tension between Pakistan And India, make this destination quite risky for both of us. But I would still recommend it to my friend for its scenic and calm beauty amidst the Himalayan range. The frozen Gadsar lake during summer makes this destination very alluring to escape from the scorching heat. The gold meadow is apt for the view we experience on this lake.

The availability of comfortable and luxurious  rooms ranging from Rs 2500- Rs 5000, then the estimated  cost for food, and other miscellaneous things like toll, permit fees, entry fees for skiing, River rafting, trekking trips  etc. come about Rs 3000-5000 for one person per day if planned with more than 2 people .

My previous expedition was a road trip to Sonamarg using Public transport. Which took much time and was not convenient as I suffer Acrophobia and feel nausea at uphills. This Time I would prefer to manage the flight from Delhi to Srinagar and would save my day.

On my Last trip to Sonmarg  Could not buy anything from a wide range of artefacts, jewellery, walnuts available at the street market, which I might buy in my next trip.

Shillong

Best places to visit in India during summers

My favorite city in eastern India. The happening city beautifully blended with serene nature. I remember meeting young native singing and dancing on my way to uphill. Shillong has a bundle of talent wrapped up in a most progressive manner, where you don’t feel that people of the east has been deprived of development.

I love this city in summer as I can get rid of scorching heat melting the whole north, and could be part of some exciting musical events taking place throughout the year.

I am sure my friend will love this city as she has a good ear for music.

The availability of comfortable and luxurious rooms ranging from Rs 2500- Rs 4000. The estimated cost for food, and other miscellaneous things like toll, permit fees, entry fees for events etc. come about Rs 3000-4000 for one person per day if planned with more than 2 people.

On my Last trip to Shillong, I bought leather jackets, beautiful pullovers and many other stylish clothes at good prices from the street market. I might buy a few more on my next trip.

Mount Abu

Best places to visit in India during summers

In case my Friend won’t be willing to going to places far from Jaipur. We might plan our trip to Mount Abu, the only hill station of Rajasthan. The weather in Mount is not so cold during the afternoon, but nights and morning are yet pleasant. It is Gujaratis favorite weekend destination as it is situated on Rajasthan Gujarat border. I love this city as it’s very local and familiar to me. And can spend some quality time with family and friends. The Nakki Lake and Dilwara temple are not to miss tourist places in this city.

The availability of comfortable and luxurious rooms ranging from Rs 2500- Rs 4000. The estimated cost for food, and other miscellaneous things like toll, permit fees, entry fees for a wildlife sanctuary, forts etc. come about Rs 3000-4000 for one person per day if planned with more than 2 people.

My idea for this trip is mainly influenced by a comfortable and relaxed way to spend at a good hotel with my friend and enjoy my night and morning with walk beside Nakki lake.

Rishikesh

Best places to visit in India during summers

Rishikesh is my kind of place. Authentic and Adventurous In one go. In my last visit, I was a registered member of the Patanjali Yoga Centre. And I spend 15 days in utmost peace with myself. This time I would like my friend to experience and learn the inner strengthen technique in lush green plains, near revivifying water of holy Ganga river.

The holy city also offers many trekking trips along with river rafting to stir up the soul and value the life we have. Remembering the View of Ganga river from Laxman jhula, Aarti performed during evening still gives me goosebumps.

The availability of comfortable and luxurious rooms ranging from Rs 1500- Rs 3000. The estimated cost for food, and other miscellaneous things like toll, permit fees, entry fees for Rajaji national park, forts etc. come about Rs 2000-3000 for one person per day if planned with more than 2 people.

All-time time favourite Goa

Goa rejuvenates me. I have been to Goa in monsoon, summer, winters, but nothing has made me stop visiting this lively place. In my last visit to Goa in summer I was like a mermaid spending major time in the sea or swimming pool. Although the sunburns and tanning took  2 months to subsidise, I still don’t mind in soaking myself again in salty water. The friendly and happening crowd at Baga beach, Calangute beach, Floating Casino, late night parties keeps you young and energetic on your visit.

The availability of comfortable and luxurious rooms ranging from Rs 1500- Rs 3000. The estimated cost for food, and other miscellaneous things like toll, permit fees, entry fees for casino, parties etc. come about Rs 2000-3000 for one person per day if planned with more than 2 people.

I love to purchase lots of street clothes, swimming costume along with accessory and flaunt it.

I am sure my friend will enjoy her summer holidays in any one of the places we decide to pack our bag for. Meanwhile, I ask for her choice why don’t you comment below and let me know where are you planning your summer holidays this year.

Enjoy the Summertime!!
