Reasons why I love thailand

by Syed Saifulla Ahsan

Thailand is undoubtedly one of the most visited countries in Southeast Asia. Thailand is obviously one of my favorite traveling countries. I can’t express how much I love the most delicious foods, its diverse nature. And why do I really love Thailand? Well, this is 11 reasons why Thailand is one of the world’s best countries to visit.

Heavenly Islands

If you are looking for a tropical getaway, there are many incredible and amazing islands in Thailand, far from all the stress of your daily life. The sandy beaches are so white that the waters are so crystal clear that sometimes they seem almost unreal. You can choose between untouched and peaceful islands with small tourists and more busy and more developed places to party.

Some of my favorite Islands in Thailand are here.

Koh Samui – a well known honeymoon destination off the east coast. I fell in love with its beautiful romantic beaches and palm trees. There are also many bars, restaurants, hotels and resorts on Thailand’s second largest island. I was very pleased to discover Koh Samui on our rented motorcycle.

Koh Lanta – another island that you just can’t miss and can easily be reached from Krabi and Phuket. Koh Lanta welcomes you with a relaxing atmosphere, friendly people and some of the world’s most wonderful beaches. You can plan a day trip to a nearby snorkeling paradise –Koh Rok Island if you stay in Koh Lanta.

Koh Poda – this little island near Ao Nang makes you feel like you’ve been on the Blue Lagoon set. The water is so warm and clear that you can see amazing multicolored fish and sea life.

Similan Islands – these are part of Thailand’s national park and are renowned for diving and a wonderful nature.

Friendly People

Thai people are certainly one of the most important reasons why I so much love Thailand. They are so nice and friendly. I also love how patient and open they are, most of them speak very well English and are always happy to chat with you and joke. Thai people are also very comfortable and easy to go and there never seems to be a problem that is too big to deal with.

I’ve been to many hotels, resorts, and restaurants in Thailand and was always treated with kindness and courtesy. My holidays in the Land of Smiles are always unforgettable also because of the relaxed and calm nature of its incredible people. I have been to many Thailand restaurants, hotels, resorts and have always been kindly and politely treated. My vacation in the Land of Smiles is always unforgettable due to the relaxed and calm nature of its amazing people.

Full Moon Parties

The best full moon parties were held in Koh Phangan Island, on Haad Rin Nok Beach, where everything started decades ago. Thousands of people from all over the world join together to dance, drink and have fun the whole night. What began as a simple party between a small group of tourists has become a renowned event for hours with leading DJs playing music. The full moon party is even mentioned in Leonardo DiCaprio ‘s famous film The Beach.

Traditional Thai Massages

Whenever I arrive in Thailand, I like to start my vacation with a relaxing traditional Thai massage that helps to relieve muscle and back pain after hours of long- haul flight. It also helps me to sleep better, which is particularly helpful when I have a jet lag and my body is still very confused.

Thai massage is an ancient practice with a rich history and I strongly recommend that you only go to the professional centers to experience all its advantages. The best traditional Thai massage I ‘ve ever seen in Bangkok was at the Wat Pho Thai Massage School –something I’ll definitely repeat in the future.

Beautiful Temples

Temples are an important component of Thai culture and life in general. You can admire incredibly beautiful Buddhist temples in almost every Thai town or island, whether small or large. Of course, Bangkok is home of most famous and important temples like Wat Arun, Wat Pho and Wat Phra Kaew.

Another city in Thailand with large numbers of temples is Chiang Mai, here you can’t miss Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Suan Dok and Wat Phra Singh, but you can spend days or weeks discovering many other magical places. Some of the most popular tourist destinations, such as Koh Samui or Phuket, are also home to some impressive religious landmarks and temples.

Long Tail Boats

Long tail boats are an integral part of Thai tourism and are probably found in Phuket or Krabi. During my stay in Ao Nang, we would actually use long tail boats to transport to the nearby islands. They are, of course, only suitable when the weather is nice and the sea is calm. I know speedboats are faster and more practical most of the time, but I also like this traditional boat with an extremely large engine.

Breathtaking Sunsets

Sunsets seem to be even more beautiful than usual while I’m in Thailand and I use them as often as possible. Especially if I’m on one of the amazing Thai Islands, I always like to see a perfect place to sunbathe. There’s something special about the ocean and all the unbelievable nature that makes this experience even more magical.

A fun nightlife

Partying in Thailand is fantastic. Think of beach parties, fire shows, cold Chang beers, drink buckets directly and meet many like-minded travelers. I had some of the best parties on Kao San Road in Bangkok, or dancing on Koh Phi Phi Beach until the morning. The legendary Full Moon party in Koh Phangan is still on the list.

Weather

The weather in Thailand is warm throughout the year and from January to December you can wear flip flops and shorts. The best (non-rainy) season begins in late November and ends in April. The other months are usually considered to be the rainy season, and the monsoons can hit at any time, even if all the rain is usually concentrated in September / October.

Overall, it is a very pleasant climate, even if it rains, it is really nice and definitely a wonderful place to escape from the winter months in Europe and the United States.

Snorkeling and diving paradise

If you are considering obtaining your diving licence, Thailand is your place. The water is warm and lots to see. Koh Tao is a popular place to be certified and many dive schools are very affordable to choose from the prices of the courses. You often get a free accommodation for the duration of the course. If you prefer snorkeling, you can still see a wide variety of fish and corals.

Affordable

Thailand is still a bargain paradise, even though prices are inevitably rising, and you can have a wonderful time without spending a fortune. You can find quality Thai food restaurants for only a few baht and cheap hotels with a decent standard and services. Transportation is also quite affordable and shopping and parties are also affordable.
