Jaisalmer is an appreciable tourist destination in Rajasthan state. The Golden City is surrounded with the rustic Thar Desert with huge sand dunes and Indo-Pak border. Jaisalmer is a beautiful destination flocked with numerous attractions like palaces, forts, havelis, temples, museums, wildlife sanctuaries, and many historic monuments.

Simply, Jaisalmer is a medley of heritage, traditions, and the history of Rai Jaswal who is the founder of this beautiful city. You will be attracted to great heritage and history which are experience-able through the monuments, artefacts, and many places. Mainly, this golden city is a prominent place for geologists and the best example of this interest is “The Wood Fossil Park”.

Now it’s time to know, how Jaisalmer City is being appreciated by over the entire world through its attractions and places of interest.

Salim Singh-ki Haveli is a well-known Haveli in peacock shape. And home to the Mehta family of Jaisalmer which is very famous for unique architectural styles.

Finally, Nathmal-ki-Haveli is a prime minister residence of that times. And this Haveli is very well-known for beautiful paintings.

Museums of Jaisalmer are the other important tourist attractions to be covered in Rajasthan. Each museum is known for a particular significance of Jaisalmer’s prominent things.

Mostly, the museum’s exhibit the artifacts, antiques, war memories, musical instruments, weapons, Rajasthani textiles, etc. Mainly, the museums of war memorials are shouldn’t be missed because there you can see many things in war zones.

Museums: Most visited museums are The Thar Heritage Museum, Desert Culture Center and Museum, War museum, Government museum and the Longewala War museum.

6. Beautiful Lakes

In Jaisalmer, the most relaxing and refreshing destinations mean the two famous lakes Gadsisar and Amarsagar. Gadsisar Lake was constructed in the 14th century to supply water for arid lands of Jaisalmer and then many temples and shrines were spotted around the lake and it became a major tourist attraction.

Amarsagar Lake was once lake cum oasis of Amar Singh Palace. This lake was a complex of Palace and many separated ponds with numerous pavilions, wells, and a famous temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Here in the Amarsagar Lake, you will be attracted to some intricate architectural designs of the attractions there.

7. Boundless Thar Desert
